On August 30th, a couple of friends and I attended the “May the Flower Be with You” event at Ingress.co. Combining therapeutic flowers, state-of-the-art technology, and cannabis-kissed pastries, this is an event designed to inspire and relax you. As a frequent consumer of cannabis, I’m happy to say that Ingress.co has crafted an experience that feels exclusive, polished, and wholly unique.
When you push through the tall lime green doors of Ingress.co, you step into a quaint minimalist space with warm lighting, fragrant incense, lo-fi house beats, and an adorable tuxedo cat curled up in the corner. The vibe of the downstairs area is very laid back and cosy – perfect for rolling up and sparking a post-work joint.
Meanwhile, the rooftop on the fifth floor offers quite a different feel. You walk through clear strip curtains and enter a dimly lit room with pink neon accents running along the corners. By the window is a comfy couch facing a projector playing The Powerpuff Girls. The music up here was more fast-paced and groovy, mirroring what I was about to experience.
Positioned on a high round table was the holy grail: The Titanium and Ruby Aromatherapy Device by QaromaShop. Frankly, you haven’t tasted the true flavor of your cannabis till you’ve tried this device. It uses an interchangeable coil to heat up the bowl, which bakes the bud in a clean and controlled manner. The coil is attached to a box which displays the temperature, starting at 555 ℃.
Compared to the combustion method used in a bong or a joint, this device vaporizes your cannabis. This means all the terpenes of the cannabis will be preserved, allowing for a clean inhale and a heavy full-bodied high - without the harshness of the smoke.
The first strain I tasted with this rig was Purple Majik. Bred by Ethos, this Indica-dominant hybrid strain tasted earthy and piney, smelling like fresh growth on the forest floor after a rainy night. Next, my budtender packed me a bowl of Ocean Fruit, bred by Square One Genetics. This Indica strain is the crème de la crème of their selection and has become one of my all-time favorites. With its euphoric and relaxed high, and vibrant notes of orange peel from the limonene terpene, this is the easiest strain to recommend for night-time use. While both these strains are top-shelf and grown in non-till organic living soil, you truly get the most out of them by using a vaporizer. Smoking these in a joint would get me high, sure. But taking a fresh inhale from the QaromaShop device and closing my eyes – I swear I felt like Remy when he tried cheese and berries for the first time in Ratatouille. My mind was completely blown. I will be returning to Ingress.co’s rooftop often to indulge with my friends.
